The business at 146 Danbury Road carries children’s clothes and footwear for boys and girls newborn to age 6, as well as baby gear and toys, items for pregnancy and kindergarten essentials.

Hepatica Vintage Thrift in Gaylordsville has expanded.

The store at 636 Kent Road (Route 7), which opened in 2012, has doubled its space.

The shop carries “soup to nuts,” according to owner Aline Flynn.

Goods include clothing, hats, accessories, patio furniture, home goods, jewelry, area rugs, small furniture and more.

An exhibit of works by Gaylordsville artists Susan Grisell and Richard Stalter is on view at the shop through August.

Aber Nail & Spa II, LLC has leased 1,830 square feet for a full-service nail salon in Litchfield Crossings on Route 7 in New Milford.

The nail salon, located in the existing Home Goods building around the corner near GNC, is scheduled to open in August.

Aber Nail & Spa II is owned by Heng Chao Xiong, who also goes by Tony.

According to Xiong, along with nail design and services, the salon will offer pedicures, massages and other services.

“We will be utilizing in our services a premiere quality of French skincare products,” said Xiong.

Connecticut Assisted Living Association (CALA) recently presented New Milford resident David Simmonds with the Outstanding Resident Service award.

The award was given June 9 at the Water’s Edge Resort and Spa.

Simmonds is the senior culinary services Director at Maplewood at Stony Hill, an assisted living memory care community in Bethel.

CALA’s Outstanding Services Award recognizes caregivers, team members, department directors, and executive directors who go above and beyond to provide outstanding care and service to residents.

Simmonds was nominated by fellow staff members.
