Six students from Bridgewater have each been awarded a $3,500 scholarship for the 2015-16 school year from the Persbacker Family Scholarship Fund at the Connecticut Community Foundation.

Recipients are Kristine Klein, Rachel Crossley, Emma Virbickas, Michael Leslie, Kailee Munson and Andrew Stern.

“Members of the scholarship review panel congratulate this year’s recipients,” said Ned Bandler, a fund representative.

“We encourage Bridgewater students — from elementary to high school — and their families to consider applying for a scholarship from The Persbacker Family Scholarship Fund when planning for their college education,” Bandler said.

The Persbacker Family Scholarship Fund, the largest scholarship fund available to students in Bridgewater, annually provides awards for students who have demonstrated outstanding community service in town.

Each student may receive a total of $14,000 from the fund over four years.

Bandler serves as a scholarship review panel member for the fund, along with the fund founder’s daughter, Elaine Wyman, and foundation volunteers Bob Clarke, Ann Merriam-Feinberg and Adele Taylor.

Applications for the 2016 Persbacker Family Scholarship Fund will be available in January online at www.conncf.org.
