The 62nd Bridgewater Country Fair will be held Aug. 16-18 on the grounds behind the firehouse on Route 133 in Bridgewater.

The event, which will draw thousands of patrons from the area, is sponsored by the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, which marks its 75th anniversary this year.

The fair will be open Aug. 16 from 4 to 11 p.m., Aug. 17 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Aug. 18 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Major fair highlights will include an opening ceremony Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m., followed by a parade at 6:45 p.m.; a fireman's muster Aug. 17 at 11 a.m.; an antique tractor pull Aug. 17 at 2:30 p.m.; a pedal tractor pull for children 10 and under Aug. 17-18 at 11 a.m.; a garden tractor pull Aug. 18 at 11:30 a.m.; a variety of musical performances and freestyle Motocross demonstrations throughout the three-day event; and a firemen's raffle.

Bingo, which was last offered at the fair in 1989, will return this year.

Admission to the fair is $8 for adults and free for children under 12. A three-day pass will be available for $16. Seniors aged 60 and older will be admitted for $5 Aug. 17-18.

8:30 a.m.: Sheep judging at the sheep tent.

9 a.m.: Junior dairy and beef shows at the south ring. Junior poultry at the poultry tent. Awarding of the trophy for Best Animal in Show.

9:30 a.m.: Children's pet parade at the bandstand area. Must have signed up in advance.

10 a.m.: Bingo session. Doors open one hour before for sheet sales.

10:30 a.m.: Poultry judging.

11 a.m.: Pedal tractor pull for children 10 and under at the bandstand area. Firemen's muster at the north ring. Freestyle Motocross show.

Noon: Kuykendall Border Collie herding demonstration at the sheep tent. Tractor Mac show.

12:30 p.m.: Hot dog pig racing.

1 p.m.: Music by You, Me, The Sea, featuring Jenna Bollard at the bandstand.
