A program with Heather Andersen, author of the memoir "I Never Intended to Brave: A Woman's Bicycle Journey through Southern Africa," will take place Nov. 10 in Warren.

Ms. Andersen will talk about and show slides from her solo bicycle trip through southern Africa at 11 a.m. at the new Warren Community Center at 7 Sackett Hill Road.

The author unexpectedly found herself bicycling solo through Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa after her service in the U.S. Peace Corps as a volunteer.

Her book won three recent book awards, including the National Indie Excellence Book Award in Adventure.

Books will be available for purchase and signing.
