Monica's Corner, a new dancewear store in New Milford, will open for business March 17 in the former FineLine Theatre Arts studio at 64 Railroad St.

The store will celebrate its grand opening March 22, according to owner Monica Harcken.

Dancewear brands will include Ainsliewear, Bloch, Capezio, Grishko, Mirella and Wear Moi.

The store will also carry dance shoes, including pointe shoes, accessories, jewelry and yoga wear.

Harcken has worked with the costume departments of various dance studios for the past 10 years.

Her work has included designing, sewing or altering hundreds costumes.

Harcken will continue sewing costumes, altering prom dresses, and more in the store's sewing corner.

The store will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The New Milford Curves is hosting a food drive through March 23.

This year Curves invites members and non-members to participate by making a monetary contribution of at least $30 to be donated to the New Milford Social Services food bank.

All new members who make a donation will not be charged a service fee when joining Curves as either a Fitness or Curves Complete member.

The offer is based on a first visit enrollment and is not valid with any other offer or discount; restrictions may apply.

Current members who make a donation will receive a gift of a purple workout bag from Curves.
