The Sherman Playhouse will hold auditions for its holiday production of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

A large cast of men and women ages 7 to 70 is sought.

The retelling of Lewis Carroll's classic has been adapted by playwright Christopher Rich and tells the tale of a little girl who falls down a rabbit hole into a nonsensical world with countless strange creatures, including a high-strung Queen of Hearts and a tap dancing Mad Hatter.

The play, under the direction of Beth Bonnabeau of New Milford, will be staged Dec. 4-27 at the 5 Route 39 North theater.

No appointments are necessary. A sign-up sheet is available in the green room around the back of the playhouse.

Actors will be asked to read from the script and sing a cappella.

There are only three parts — Alice, Mouse and Doormouse — that call for children.
