[Editor's Note: The following is an open letter to a local good Samaritan, Mike Covert of the Gaylordsville Country Store.]

Thank you, stranger.

I want to thank the owner of the Gaylordsville Country Store for being so thoughtful, for taking the time to pick up my fallen possession that I lost while riding my motorcycle.

And thank you for putting in the effort to track me down and return my bag with my wallet and cellphone in it.

A simple thank you won't suffice for all the tension and aggravation you have saved me.

Your kind act motivates me to do something similar whenever I can ... to help others in the smallest ways possible, to "pay it forward," to be considerate and to do something without expecting anything in return.

Mike, I am so grateful there are still thoughtful, honest people among us.
