Anastasia (Osuch) Tencza, 92, of New Milford, died Dec. 14 surrounded by her family at her home. She was the widow of Louis Tencza Sr.
Mrs. Tencza was born Sept. 6, 1920, the daughter of the late Stephen and Sophia (Orlenski) Osuch. She lived her entire life in New Milford.
She married her husband while he was on leave from the U.S. Army during World War II. They shared 66 years of marriage and together raised a large family
She never wanted an empty house and never desired any other career than that of "Ma."
Mrs. Tencza is survived by three sons, Louis Tencza, and his wife, Patricia, of New Milford; Frank Tencza, and his wife, Carla, of New Milford, and Jim Tencza, of New Milford; six daughters, Bernadette Jewell, and her husband, Mark, of Sandwich, Mass.; Alice Franco, and her husband, John, of Willington; Barbara Lawton, and her husband, Richard, of Farmington; Christine Tyson, and her husband, Joseph, of Torrington; Diane Deak, and her husband, John, of Sharon; and Mary Cullmer, of Falls Village; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Catherine Volinski and Mary Gawel, and five brothers, Stanley, Charles, Vincent, Stephen and William Osuch.
Burial was at St. Francis Cemetery in New Milford.
