Twenty young adults celebrated a landmark day in their lives June 10 at New Milford High School.

The occasion was the presentation of diplomas to proud graduates of the New Milford adult education program.

Following the traditional processional, Jake Vittorini led those on hand in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Among those to then offer remarks of encouragement to the soon graduates-to-be were New Milford’s assistant superintendent of schools, Joshua Smith, as well as program director Joe Neff and facilitator Christy Martin.

Those earning high school diplomas via New Milford High School's adult education program were Michael J. Basso Jr., Halim Wadih Bourjeli, Thelma Hazel Coons, Austyn P. Flayderman-Williams, John Frederick McAlley Hall, Kenton Tylor Horsley, Leah Marie Hulse, Ericka Leslie Cable-Killmer, Robert G. Kovacs Jr., Tiago Lima, Ivelisse O.
