Services to United States military veterans are not immediately impacted by the government shutdown that started Monday, Sept. 30, at midnight.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reports claims processing and payments in the compensation, pension, education and vocational rehabilitation programs are anticipated to continue through late October.
Veterans-related services impacted include hotlines having been disconnected and Congressional Liaison Veterans queries suspended.
In the event of a prolonged shutdown, claims processing and payments would be suspended when available funding is exhausted.
