Superintendent gets a a three-year extension

Superintendent of Schools JeanAnn Paddyfote will head the school system for at least three more years.
The New Milford Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to extend Dr. Paddyfote's contract through 2012.
Details of the new contract were not disclosed Tuesday. A May 2008 review of Dr. Paddyfote by the board showed her salary, not including benefits, to be $160,602.
In that review, a majority of board members rated Dr. Paddyfote as having substantially exceeded the standard in five of the seven competency areas.
Board chairman Lisa Diamond commended Dr. Paddyfote for doing an "outstanding job" that is respected by her colleagues, employees, parents and other civic leaders.
Board member Elizabeth Finney commended Dr. Paddyfote for her focus on always meeting "the needs of our children and community first."
