Jason DePecol, son of Cynthia and Mark DePecol, has received a Vice President for Academic Affairs Research Fellowship summer research grant from Saint Michael's College in Vermont.

The exploratory major is engaged in carrying out the proposal "Millennium Development Goal Research Project," under the direction of Saint Michael's professor Dr. Patricia Siplon of the political science department.

Mr. DePecol graduated from Shepaug Valley High School in 2009.

Joseph Pullaro was inducted into Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the international honor society for computing and information disciplines, earlier this year at Eastern Connecticut State University, where he is majoring in business information systems and computer science

Kevin Owen Tarsa of Washington Depot was named to the dean's list for the 2011 spring semester at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Kevin is a graduate of the Gunnery in Washington.

The Gunnery, a private school in Washington, has announced Tyffany R. Richards of the Class of 2012 has been chosen one of 3,100 outstanding participants in the National Achievement Scholarship program.

She is one of the students who scored in the top 3 percent of more than 160,000 black Americans who requested consideration in the 2012 National Achievement Program when they took the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship qualifying test.

A roster of those students' names, high schools and tentative college major choices is being sent to about 1,500 colleges and universities.

Michaela Garrity was named to the fall semester dean's list at the University of Connecticut.

Daniel O'Connell-Santos was named to the dean's list for the spring 2011 semester at Quinnipiac University in Hamden.

Charlotte D. Luckey, a graduate of the Taft School in Watertown, has been named to fall semester dean's list at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.

Thomas B. Kimball, a member of the Class of 2012 and son of Eben and Anne Kimball, has been named to the fall semester dean's list at Colby College in Waterville, Maine.

The Shepaug Valley High School graduate is majoring in environmental studies with a policy concentration. He graduated from Shepaug Valley High School.
