Snowstorm expected to dump eight inches

The Greater New Milford area's latest snowstorm is expected to dump up to eight inches of snow on our seven-town area before changing to sleet and freezing rain Thursday in late afternoon, according to AccuWeather.
Snowfall will resume by early evening, possibly leaving another two to four inches overnight.
Snow and ice on power lines may cause power outages.
By Thursday at 11 am., no announcements about emergency warming stations in the Greater New Milford area had been issued.
New Milford Public Works Director Mike Zarba said the town has enough road treatment product to get through the weekend. Public Works crews are spreading a salt and sand mix on the road rather than straight salt, Zarba said.
"Just the storm conditions themselves will make driving treacherous," Zarba added. "With frozen precipitation predictions, I don't expect road conditions to improve until sometime Friday morning. I would advise residents to stay off the roads if possible."
