Army National Guard Pvt. Ryan C. Forrester has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

Pvt. Forrester, a 2002 graduate of New Milford High School, is the son of Cheryl Forrester, of Las Vegas.

Pvt. Adam Kirwan-Welsh graduated Oct. 12 from 1st Batallion Delta Platoon 1074, an honor platoon, at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Pvt. Kirwan-Welsh, a 2012 graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury, is the son of Bill and Jeanne Welsh.
