Voters in Region 12 school district's three towns turned out in small numbers May 5.

The majority of those who did show up to vote approved a $21.5 million schools budget for fiscal year 2015-16.

The budget passed, 379-132, cumulatively for the three towns. In Bridgewater, the vote was 101-48. In Roxbury, the budget passed 120-43. Washington voters gave the nod, 158-41.

The budget will represent a reduction of 0.26 percent, or $56,570, from the present fiscal year.

Returned to Superintendent of Schools Pat Cosentino's budget will be full-time hours for two of the region's school nurses, a total of $41,300.

"I'm very grateful to all three towns for voting yes," Cosentino said. "It shows they appreciate what we are trying to do, which is provide excellent education at a price the communities can afford."

In Washington, Region 12 Board of Education representatives for the town were also elected Tuesday.

Michelle Gorra received 175 voter and Anthony Amato received 153 to assure their return to the board for another term.
