The towns of Roxbury and Bridgewater have Community Development Block Grant funds available to income eligible residential property owners for housing rehabilitation projects.
Roxbury will coordinate the program for both communities with L. Wagner & Associates serving as the towns' agent.
Work that may be eligible could include correcting health and safety violations, code compliance, roofing, carpentry and electrical work.
Letters of interest received from residents in support of this grant serve as applications. Eligibility could be based on, but not limited to, household size and annual household income.
Funds would be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and typically come as a deferred loan with no interest, which does not require repayment until a transfer of title, the owner's death, or the property no longer be the applicant's principal place of residence.
Applications are available in the first selectman's office in both towns.
