The Merryall Center for the Arts in New Milford will hold its annual jazz picnic Aug. 24 at 3 p.m.
The Bearcats jazz band will perform at the Chapel Hill Road center.
The band, which has been performing for more than 35 years, has played Trad Jazz festivals coast to coast and has brought the music of Morton, Handy, Armstrong, Ory and more to the center for years.
Marty and Ginny Landgrebe will offer their barbecue skills.
"Many people know Marty as probate judge and Ginny as a high school teacher," said Eileen Monaghan, center co-president. "They don't realize that they, along with Tom and Amy Allingham, have won numerous barbecue contests throughout the country."
Tickets are $25 at the door and online at www.merryallcenter.org. The concert is included in members' and subscribers' packages. The dinner is $10 per patron.
