Work is commencing after a delay on replacement of Riverview Road bridge in the Gaylordsville district of New Milford.

The plan for utility alterations had to be redesigned due to new federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements.

The new plan includes additional utility poles on each side of the brook.

Bridge replacement was scheduled to start again Wednesday, July 30.

New Milford Public Works Director Mike Zarba said a lot of work has been completed behind the scenes and the construction work is ready to go without further delay.

Reopening of the bridge is expected in November or early December.
