Barbara Haitsch, 74, was sister of New Milfordite

Mrs. Haitsch was born Sept. 5, 1935, in Danbury, daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude (Schweitzer) Schulz.
She worked for Helicoil in Danbury for 18 years and retired from the finance department for the City of Danbury in 2003 after 14 years of employment.
Mrs. Haitsch was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was a volunteer for its Altar Guild. She was a member of the Top Hat Volunteers of Danbury and was a past troop leader for the Mariner Girl Scouts.
She was known for her talents as a seamstress. In her younger years, she enjoyed competitive roller skate dancing.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Haitsch is survived by two daughters, Cathy Ann Hunt, and her husband, Bill, of Brookfield, and Cheryl Haitsch, and her fiance, Ralph Barone, of Schenectady, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Billy and Stephanie Hunt and Austin and Hunter Barone; two brothers, Richard Schulz, and his wife, Marita, of Danbury, and Thomas Schulz, and his wife, Nancy, of New Milford; and several nieces and nephews.
The Cornell Memorial Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
