The New Milford Visiting Nurse Association (NMVNA) will begin its next session of Hospice volunteer training March 18.

The class will meet five Thursday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. and one Saturday morning at the NMVNA at 68 Park Lane Road (Route 202).

Volunteers will be trained to provide a variety of supportive services to terminally ill patients and their families.

Services may include family respite, patient support, transportation, errands, help with paperwork and child care.

It should be at least one year since an applicant experienced the death of a significant person in their lives before beginning the program.

Advance registration is required. For more information and registration, call Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Mary Peitler at 860-354-2216.
