The New Milford Historical Society will present a special children's high tea June 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The tea will celebrate the recent reopening of the museum's toy room and the restoration of its doll collection.

Children are asked to bring a favorite doll, action figure or stuffed animal.

The program will feature tea or punch with sandwiches and sweets, music by violin students, a "show and tell" on the making of dolls by Fran Dempewolf and a reading with Hilary McKenna from "The Best Loved Doll" by Rebecca Caudill.

In addition, ribbons will be awarded for the prettiest doll/action figure/stuffed animal, the oldest, the best dressed, the one that can do the most things, the one that has traveled the furthest and the doll/action figure/stuffed animal deemed to be the best loved.

Admission is $25 for a parent and one child, plus $5 per additional child.
