The Kent Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the annual Sidewalk Festival in Kent through Aug. 1 in and around downtown Kent.

Events, which kicked off July 29, will be offered up and down Routes 7 and 341, as well as in the Kent Green and the Village Barns.

Offerings will include music, food, face painting, arts and crafts, a sidewalk chalk art contest, children's activities, demonstrations of chair caning, spinning and knitting, reduced prices at many stores, samples of food and specials at several restaurants, Elvis impersonations, an upscale tag sale on the Golden Falcon Field to benefit Kent Center School Scholarship Committee, dancing and music.

In addition, a pig roast will be held on the Kent Green July 31 from 11:30 a.m. until the food is gone.

Parking is available on the street and on the Kent Green property.
