The Kent Memorial Library has announced Lucy C. Pierpont has been appointed as the library's new program director.

The Waterbury resident assumed her duties earlier this month.

Ms. Pierpont, who has a strong background in graphic design and marketing, owns her own design company and previously worked for The Litchfield County Times/Housatonic Publications.

In addition to joining the library, she will continue her work with Klemm Real Estate in graphic design and marketing.

"Lucy brings over 30 years' of professional graphics and marketing experience to the job as well as a knowledge of the greater Kent area, director Laura McLaughlin said.

" I am very excited about the new ideas and style she can bring to the library," she said.
