The Kent Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual Firemen's Fair Aug. 26-28.

The fair at the fairgrounds on Route 7 will be open Aug. 26 from 6-10 p.m., Aug. 27 from 6-11 p.m. and Aug. 28 from 5-11 p.m.

Highlights of the weekend will include a parade featuring departments from Kent and surrounding towns Aug. 27 at 6:45 p.m., with prizes to be awarded, and a fireworks display Aug. 28 at 9 p.m.

Other fair offerings will include carnival rides, children's games, a white elephant tent, live music, the cake booth, bingo.

In addition, a dog show will be offered Aug. 28 at 6 p.m.

Three divisions will be available for small and large dogs: grooming, obedience and agility.

A freestyle section will also be available.

The cost is $5 per dog.

Patrons over age 12 who attend the fair Aug. 26 will pay $5, but will have free admission Aug. 27-28. Patrons over age 12 who attend Aug. 27 will pay $4, but will have free admission Aug. 28. Patrons over age 12 will pay $3 Aug. 28.

On Aug. 26 and 28, bracelets for carnival rides will be sold for $20 each at the ticket booth.
