The New Milford Historical Society has announced its upcoming events.

A tag sale will kick off the summer season, starting with a gala preview July 29 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The sale will also be open July 30-31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. -- during the Village Fair Days --each day.

Admission to the preview is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

Donations of furniture, antiques, jewelry, crafts, toys, vintage clothing, hard cover books, tools, holiday, garden and household items are sought.

Mattresses, electric equipment and hazardous items will not be accepted.

Other historical society events will include a portrait painting demonstration and lecture Sept. 10; Colonial Family Day Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with $12 admission per member family and $15 admission per non-member family; a lecture on 18th Century chairs by Fallon and Wilkinson Oct. 9 at 2 p.m.; and a haunted Halloween tour Oct. 29.

In addition, two exhibits, "Best Foot Forward: Three Centuries of Fashionable Footwear" and "Through the Eyes of a Child: The Dolls, Toys and Games of the New Milford Historical Society Collection," run through Oct. 31.

Events will be held at the historical society at 6 Aspetuck Ave.
