The Sherman Historical Society is gearing up for its 200th anniversary of its Old Store Museum & Gift Shop.

A number of special events are planned throughout the year.

An exhibit, “The Old Store Celebrates 200 Years,” will open June 12 in the museum section of the building.

An open house reception will be held June 26.

Residents are invited to stop by the historical society in Sherman Center to receive an Old Store anniversary punch card.

The card will be punched each time a patron spends at least $10 on goods, excluding sale items, greeting cards and candy.

Only one punch will be put in a card each visit.

Patrons who have fives punches on a card by the end of October will be eligible to enter the Oct. 31 drawing to win a $100 shopping spree this holiday season.

The Old Store & Museum and Gift Shop carries a wide range of merchandise, including Sherman-themed goods.

The Old Store Museum & Gift Shop in Sherman Center is open Thursdays through Sundays from noon to 4 p.m., or whenever the flag is out on the front porch.
