The Community Culinary School of Northwestern Connecticut in New Milford, will host a culinary showcase, "Three Cheers to Careers," May 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the St. John's Episcopal Church hall, 7 Whittlesey Ave., New Milford.

The event is annually the largest fundraiser for the nonprofit organization.

The school provides job and life skills training to unemployed and underemployed adults. Food prepared in classes is donated to local food banks.

The evening will feature hors d'oeuvres prepared by students and graduates under the direction of chef/instructor Blythe Roberts, and will be accompanied by wine and beer selections.

A silent and live auction will feature items such as an African safari; a Napa Valley food and wine tour; golf at Winged Foot Golf Club, host of the 2020 United States Open men's tournament; and a Thai cooking class.

Tickets will be sold for a wine basket with more than 20 bottles.
